“Restraining
Order” Definition: An emergency temporary
remedy to restrain the defendant for what should be a very brief period
pending hearing on the application for a temporary injunction. It goes no
further than to preserve the status quo, being the last, natural, peaceable,
uncontested status which needed the pending controversy.
